CarPlay connection

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.
I have a Medeke DuDu7 and I’m really liking it, apart from one problem which is only being able to connect to wireless CarPlay about two times in ten. If I go to the main screen and select “Reboot” it connects every time. Iphone 14 Pro Max is what I’m trying to connect to. DuDU 7 has the latest OTA OS, and iPhone is also on the latest firmware. Is this normal, how is other peoples experience. I have never done wired CarPlay before, do I just connect to one of the USB ports ???

I use wireless CarPlay with an iPhone 15 Pro and it connects every time without any problems. However, after the connection, the hotspot often does not close and I have to close it manually.

Just an update to this. My phone had previously connected to my cars bluetooth module, so I disconnected the plug to the old module, and now my phone connects to the DuDu 7 every time, and so fast. So it was my phone that was the problem not the DuDu 7. Can anybody tell me if there is a way to automatically get CarPlay to start up automatically instead of having to select the CarLink 2.0 icon every time ??.

Setup>Other>Tasks

Some applications can also be set here Setup>Vehicle>Start Set>App Start Settings>Select App to Auto Start on Bootup.

caolz thanks for the reply but my setup doesn't have either of those two settings mentioned. They are not there.

johnyfalco Have you enabled expert mode in Setting - Others?

Open this option first.
