In general, when purchasing a car head unit, I think it is reasonable to expect that all available audio output options perform equally well. Of course, digital outputs are inherently cleaner by nature, which is why an SPDIF passthrough should be an excellent solution for delivering a high-quality audio signal.
Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the current situation. While Dudu head units offer many advanced features and functions, it seems that the basic requirement of providing a clean and reliable digital audio output has not been properly addressed. The SPDIF passthrough issue has been present for almost a year now, and it still has not been resolved.
This is especially frustrating for users like myself who run external high-end DSP systems. For us, the main purpose of the head unit is simple: to provide a proper, clean signal from sources such as Poweramp, Apple Music, and other streaming services. At the moment, the unit is not able to reliably perform this most fundamental task.
I am also unsure whether part of the problem is related to communication or language barriers. However, this forum contains a lot of valuable feedback from users about their needs and expectations. If this feedback is not taken into account, it raises the question of what the purpose of the forum really is.
I sincerely hope this issue will be prioritized and properly addressed, as it is critical for users who rely on digital audio integration in their systems.
