DUDU-Meng I have installed the update script. How do I now change the region? There is no UK option in the dudu settings, and there is still no region option in the android settings.

BBishop123 the update will set the region already to GB (Great Britain). Dudu didn't provide answers to my post just sent the file to change the region. Rest of the questions were ignored.
Flash it, uninstall petal, reboot and install again, test and please report.

Do you have a terminal app?
If so, can you give the command getprop | grep locale
and getprop | grep sys

In the displayed lines, do you see:

ro.product.locale=en-GB
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=GB
ro.product.locale.country=GB

and

persist.sys.language=en
persist.sys.country=GB
persist.sys.locale=en-GB

That is what the script should do.
And if it does, I assume petal maps "should" indeed work.

For the second command, the one for country and language are empty:

The script did its work., but not completely. Your system is now partly configured as a UK system for the ro.product.locale values.
The problem however is that the persist.sys values are empty, but the script does set these as well (tries to set).
I assume that the system part of the rom overwites the persist sys properties with empty values, which is wrong.
I assume the developers are too cautious. It is better to give them a value, like for example persist.sys.country=US. In that case you do have a country value.
(persist values are also kept after reboot, but can be overwritten with enough access rights. That is with root access from the recovery, like the script does. But they should not be overwritten again when the firmware "normally" boots)
