While that's understandable, I'm wondering if you can qualify that statement. What speeds were you seeing and under what conditions? What led you to abandon the idea entirely?
I have an Atoto X10 unit I'm moving away from, and honestly that is probably one of the bigger things it had going for it, at least for my uses. Methods used to automatically enable WiFi on my phone and connect it to my head unit became unreliable and I used Bluetooth tethering on that unit to work around those problems. While I never ran speed tests to compare against WiFi, it worked fine for my needs, which was primarily Google Maps and navigation. Even better was the fact that Bluetooth connected immediately upon starting the car, and Bluetooth tethering followed that by about 3-4 seconds...it was quicker to connect and more reliable connecting than to WiFi. So it became a very quick and reliable method for me to provide Internet access to my head unit.
If it's too slow to be at all usable, that's one thing. But to just say it was too slow when I've been using it fine for my needs, I'm just looking for more information to understand. It's always preferrable to provide options than to limit options.
Thanks.
