I am proposing a quality-of-life feature for the Android Head Unit to significantly improve the management of OBD-II adapter connections.

The Current Problem
Many users, myself included, keep an OBD-II Bluetooth adapter constantly paired and connected to the head unit for real-time data viewing (i.e., data read by the radio).

The issue is that these adapters typically allow only one simultaneous connection. When a more in-depth diagnostic or troubleshooting is required, I frequently need to switch the connection:

From: The Android Head Unit.

To: A dedicated mobile phone or another device/application.

Currently, to free up the OBD adapter from the head unit, I have to navigate multiple menus to manually disconnect the device. This is time-consuming and cumbersome, especially when driving or trying to quickly diagnose an issue.

The Proposed Solution: "OBD Connect" Toggle
Could a simple toggle button be implemented, similar to the existing quick shortcuts for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth?

This button would allow users to instantly disconnect (or reconnect) the paired OBD adapter from the head unit with a single tap.

etrigo yes and no. Majority of the adapters can be paired only to one device. For instance I've got two of them (one for Dudu and the other one for Pyren Renault on mobile). If I am to use only one adaptor, I need to pair it to my phone, which in result unpairs it from Dudu. That's why I have two adaptors kept in the car.
It might work for some obdII adaptors but all I've tested can't be paired to two of them. In fact I have to physically remove mine from the socket for a moment so it can go into pairing mode after unpairing.
If yours can, share please the brand / model, I'd be interested to buy and test.
For now, if that's the case of yours working with two paired devices, turning off Bluetooth on DUDU should make your adaptor to immediately starting communication with the mobile phone. Kind of workaround.

I've also considered it, having two OBDs and connecting one to my phone and one to my phone.
But I don't think it's a viable option. This means you have to incur two associated costs.
Turning off the radio's Bluetooth isn't a solution either, as I lose the connection to my phone.

It would be nice to have a simple function to enable and disable the OBD.

etrigo yes but when you disable obd, the adaptor is still connected to Dudu Bluetooth, so it can't connect to the phone.

I think many ppl has Vgate iCar Pro 2S. it is really popular ODB. They should really add support for it on the device list. if i can see its info on third party app i installed. Why cant i get it work on dudu os.

What specific options does the OBD connection with Dudu 7 offer? I'm considering buying it because I have the Wi-Fi OBD version, but Bluetooth is required for this one.
