Dudu 7 doesn't turn on

Hey there 🙂 New here and just installed my Dudu 7 unit into my 2013 Peugeot 107 but it will not turn on. How can I trouble shoot what is going on with the unit?

Hello,

Check if the radio is receiving power.
To do this, unplug the power plug from the radio (the largest black plug plugged into the radio) and check:

with the car turned off, whether you have 12V on the yellow wire marked G2,
Start the car and see if 12v power appears on the red G3 wire.

Thanks for your response. Not reaaly an engineer just a hobbyist. Can this be measured with a normal multimeter?

The multimeter will be perfect for this measurement. In the connector, you have the ground wire — the black one labeled G1. Measure the voltage at G2 with the engine off, and then measure the voltage at G3 with the engine running

I was able to check the wires. I get 12v on the yellow and black wires when turned of but no voltage on the red and black wires when the car is turned on. Any ideas?

Can you take an detailed picture of:

the original radio connectors that are in the car,
connectors with which you connect to the installation in the car
a photo of the wiring harness between the radio and the car

Do you have a CAN decoder?

Was there a factory radio in the car? If so, do you have a pin diagram of the electrical wires on the radio ?

I wasnt able to find a wiring diagram unfortunatly. hopefully these pictures help!

Raise is a CAN bus decoder, can you check if the red G3 wire from Dudu radio goes only to Raise or somewhere else ? From the CAN decoder comes a white plug with a yellow and blue wire, it should be plugged into the radio

awas Just checked, the red wire only goes to the canbus. I also had that connector plugged in.

Connect the plug to the car and see if 12v appears on the marked red wire but only after starting the car.

awas @Zooi I've checked the schematics for this radio and there shouldn't be any ACC 12V on any of these wires, raise should take it from CAN messages which are available on the plug. The black and red wires are marked as AUX AUDIO L and R on the schematics.
You need to check if raise canbox sends 12V on ACC line to Dudu, this is the only wire it should appear on.
Stupid question, did you connect the quad lock plug removed from the radio to the raise quad lock socket?
If so, and after ignition there isn't any reaction from Dudu, measure presence of 12V on all wires going to Dudu from raise when car is off and no keys, and compare with car with engine on. Possibly there is wire mixed up. If there isn't any "surplus" 12V after car is running, I'd reach to raise as this would be something with canbox.

awas hmm that one I can't measure with the multimeter but it says camera on the label

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a diagram for this particular car model. However, on the forum of toyota Aygo (twin model to Citroen C1 / peugeot 107) there was a spread as shown in the photo. The 12v ACC signal from the whites of the plug and in the photo you can see there are only two wires in the adapter

awas it's weird, it looks like the supplied herness doest have a pin for all the cables coming from the car

Zooi thats fine, other pins are not required, they serve different purpose.
You need to connect it to the car radio plug and measure wires from THIS side (side going TO Dudu FROM canbox). From what it looks, one of the red wires here should be ACC. And picture of the whole wiring would be good, especially side coming from canbox to Dudu plug.

The red wire from the DUDU radio connector is connected to the CAN decoder, so the 12v ACC will appear there because of the decoder.
If this is not there then:

the decoder is inadequate or not working,
the decoder is not connected to the CAN network of the car

I will check with which wires it should be plugged into the CAN network.

Meanwhile, can you check in the white plug from the car if there is 12v on any pin when the car is turned off then after starting the engine if there is 12v on any pin ? If so make a note on which one.

awas I get 12v only from the grey and green wire when the car is on, nothing when the car is off

Zooi OK. So now measure 12 V on wires coming into Dudu and note them down (car on and car off).

Super 🙂 The gray wire was described as 12v ACC on the toyota Aygo forum, so you have a missing power wire to the radio, check if sometimes the gray wire in the adapter does not connect to the plug described as CAMERA.
If you have one, unplug the CAN decoder from the harness and temporarily connect the gray wire to the red G3 ACC wire in the radio. When you turn the key, the radio should start up

awas thanks! From what I see the grey doesn't connect to anything. That whole plug doesn't connect to anything. The black and red camera wires don't go to anything with pins. Have to get a wire to check if that trick with the grey wire works
