Rear view camera always no signal. Hotspot problem

I couldn't register a VW T5 and finally drive it. Now I notice two things.

The rearview camera works sometimes, but then suddenly I get no signal, but it switches to the camera. I use the Raise Canbus Box. As protocol I use VW/PQ/Low.

I took 12v and gnd from windscreen wiper because this has ignition 12v.

And I can no longer connect to my Xiaomi 15 Ultra's hotspot. It finds the phone but doesn't connect via Wi-Fi.

It is very frustrating that something always doesn't work

I fixed the hotspot problem by resetting and re-flashing the software.

I only still have the problem with the camera. And I don't know what the problem might be.

dudu-lai I'm using an aftermarket camera. After resetting and re-flashing the software, it's working again. I'm out in the car again today and will keep an eye on it.

I'll take another look at the cables, though. Even though I'm sure that's not the problem.

Blackbandt The problem is most likely with the cable.

If you see a black screen and no signal, you can try the following:
1: If there is no signal in R gear, poke the device's RST pin with a needle to restart (do not restart the vehicle). After restarting the device, check whether an image is displayed.
2: Go to Settings > CANBUS > Factory Settings > Password 108 > Other Settings > Reverse Image Switch > Off. Then, unplug the video port from the F area and connect it to Video Input 1 in the A area. In R gear, tap the device's AUX app to see if an image is displayed. This method can rule out problems with the F port and the device's F channel.

Since the reset and re-flash of the firmware, everything has been running fine so far.

Camera always works and so does hotspot.

There's one small but, though. And that's the camera's image quality. There are days when I get a very good picture. No flickering or anything. And suddenly, the picture becomes poor, flickering, and getting darker. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I'm attaching two pictures. You can clearly see the difference there. Both were taken during the day, as you can see. Is there a solution for this, or is this a known issue?

Hi everyone,

I'm asking for support regarding a problem with the rear camera.

After the latest OTA update, it stopped working; before the update, it was working properly.
I have a 2021 Vitara LY without CanBus.

This is my system:

The rear camera is an aftermarket AHD, powered by the F socket and the trigger taken from the original car wiring:

The DUDU settings are as follows:

I tested the rear camera by changing the DUDU settings and connecting the video cable (yellow) to the AUX input and it works:

I did a system reset using "Reset and Wipe Data", but it doesn't work, I get a black screen with "No Signal" written on it.

Any suggestion?

Martynbo Unfortunately, I can't help you with that. But I had exactly what you're describing. It worked for me after restoring the factory settings and re-flashing the firmware.

As I understand it, it's switching to your camera signal. Just like mine, but there's no picture. So his camera is definitely getting a signal to switch.

The photo isn't a DUDU camera. The camera is visible on the AUX channel, but no signal is displayed on the reverse channel. This is likely a problem with the F connector.

Hi Blackbandt, so you don't make me feel alone 🙂. To try and fix the problem, I just used the "wipe and restore factory settings" button, but it didn't work. I'll try re-flashing, which I've never done on this device. Can you tell me where to find the official procedure and the ROM?

Important!

Copy all files to the root of the USB stick. Also copy the files from the factory folder to the root of the USB stick. Then plug the USB stick into the Dudu7, and the update will start shortly.

More important is the following

You must have a Dudu7. But it's all in the link.

dudu-lai thanks for the reply. When you say "F connector problem", what do you mean? Loose wire contact or broken pins?
