No, the point is to troubleshoot via the process of elimination. If plugging in a mouse allows you to proceed through setup. Then you know the unit is not actually frozen. Its a touchscreen issue meaning either the ribbon cable that controls the touch portion of the screen needs to be reseated in the motherboard, the screen needs replaced or the motherboard needs replaced.
If a USB mouse does not work, then it's a different issue. In my situation, I confirmed a USB mouse allowed me to use the product. DUDU sent me a replacement screen but didn't work meaning the motherboard was bad.
