dwjames Hello! I have a Dudu7 purchased from Mekede to go into my 2015 Toyota Vellfire AYH30 hybrid. Mekede supplied me with a suitable frame and all wiring including a canbus box and I also got the extra 360 camera kit. We have installed the Dudu7 with the supplied wiring and canbus box but did not install the new 360 cameras yet. It powers up and will play music fine, but we think there is no Canbus communication from the vehicle, so the steering wheel controls do not work and it does not detect reverse gear or anything from the vehicle. The Mekede support told me that I have to select BSJ as the type of Canbus box, but I can only find XC(BSJ) and I don't know if that's correct because it has some Toyota models but not the right ones. I can see if I select HIWORLD then it has a model for Alphard 2015-2020.360View which seems right for my vehicle (Alphard and Vellfire are the same and my vehicle has OEM 360 cameras) but whatever I select there is no response on the Dudu7 from any car buttons. I tried the Learn Steering Wheel controls but when I press there is no update on the Dudu7. I set up Canbus messages on screen, but each time it repeats a few times and then stops and it has no updates or extra messages when I press steering wheel buttons, select reverse or open doors. Here are some pictures of the install. I included pictures of the wiring plugs which have nothing plugged in after we connected all we can. I think that the vehicle Canbus is not connected to the new canbus box properly. Please can someone verify which box type I must select and if possible tell me which wires on the Dudu7 wiring look are responsible for receiving the Canbus signal from the vehicle, then I can make sure it is connected to the correct pins. I think maybe it is the grey plug which receives the Canbus signal, is that right? Thanks, James
Altair571 Choose any of the Toyota XC(BSJ) ones and see what works - if the vehicle isn't readily available in most countries, it's unlikely that you'll see a profile for it with most CAN box brands. Very likely that most (if not all) features will work as Toyota uses standardised CAN protocols across most models. If there is something that doesn't work, DUDU will need to add the correct CAN profile in so that all features work with this. Alternatively, you can just buy the correct HiWorld box if any crucial features don't work and then use the Alphard profile.
dwjames Altair571 Thanks, but I don't get any CAN signals on any of the profiles I select, so I suspect that the main problem for me is that the wiring harness is somehow not correctly connected to my vehicle. I think the Dudu7 can see the CAN box but the CAN box cannot see the vehicle CAN signal. Is this something I need to ask Mekede directly?
Altair571 dwjames Yes. They'll probably get you to check if everything is connected properly etc. Get them to send another harness with a different CAN box if they can't fix the issue with the existing harness. Most times they will send another harness with a bit of pressure. If they decline and you purchased the unit from AliExpress, open a dispute and that should be enough to get them to send the correct harness. If not, go through with the dispute - send clear, detailed photos and videos to ensure you have a good chance of having the dispute go your way. Likely be a partial refund or return back to seller if you win. If you choose a partial refund, you can buy the correct harness if you want.
