Automatic lights via brightness sensor

My car has a brightness sensor for lights, but this same sensor regulates the intensity of the interior lights (dashboard/radio/interior lights).

For example, I have very sensitive exterior lights, meaning that when it starts to get a little dark, they turn on immediately. But it's not yet dark enough for the interior lights to dim.
The interior lights only dim when it gets even darker.

Is there a way to control the radio's day and night modes using the signal this sensor sends?

etrigo it cannot be done now. In theory it would be possible if the car sends the sensor info over canbus, HU would regulate brightness.

Only external light signals can be detected. If your sensor can control the headlights, you can switch between day and night themes.

I'll try to check if the car sent this.
But I have a solution that could be implemented for this.
Setting the brightness independently of day and night mode.
For example, we could set the day to night mode to change when the lights are turned on, and the brightness to change when the sun sets.
This would be a good way to get around this issue; it would also work on all cars and provide more customization.
