DUDU-Meng yes, of course, I've got if off, but then you're losing wired carlink, so not really a solution.

Turning off this switch also allows you to use wired CarPlay.
It just won't automatically activate CarLink when your phone is detected.

DUDU-Meng ah OK, so it's just automation issue. Nevertheless, is it possible you can contact carlink devs and try to sort it out? It's nice to have automation but when actual phone is connected not any other hardware. Thanks.

After disabling this option, CarPlay will still connect automatically. Open CarLink, go to Settings in the top-right corner, and enable Auto-Connect. Then, when you connect your iPhone via cable, it will connect automatically. It will also connect automatically when your iPhone's Bluetooth is connected.

DUDU-Meng I'll test later. This raises the question then, what's the purpose then of the USB options in the factory settings?

This feature was available on many large-screen devices long ago and was retained later on. Now, it can be bypassed—simply using CarLink settings achieves the same purpose and functionality.

Does it work right out of the box?? Plug n play?? No additional programming involved. I’ve been looking for something like this for my 13 inch Dudu 7 and hate relying on the steering wheel controls to turn down the volume. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Yes, it’s plug and play. Works great and great quality. Only hang up is that you can’t do wired Apple CarPlay and the volume knob at the the same time. If you do wireless Apple CarPlay then no issues.
