Digital out sampling rates

A bit depth conversion does not matter if the source is 16 bit anyway, right?
I dont mind the volume regulation because it will always be set at maximum undistorted at the sources and regulation be done after the DSP.

jannek no but this applies to 24b source. Without that float 32, it does 24>16>24

Mikescotland if using optical "pass-through" would volume control work normally as in analog? And is optical in current state noticeably better than analog RCA? Provided amplifier and speakers remains the same?

I cab use remote controller if volume control isn't that good with optical pass through.

abidali volume control works normally, no other dsp options don't, as expected. Sound is much better than analogue

The USB out to my understanding does not give out any system sounds, are they given out on analog out in parallel? Would not be any problem to mix them with the signal from USB in the external DSP.

I don't know why this false claim is done so often. Over USB every app can output audio. What's not working well is listening to music and use navigation in parallel. I guess the switching between the two sources is the problem. Over USB only one app can output audio and Android has to switch over frome one app thr the other. It takes some time and you loose most of the navigation sound. Also the volume balance is bad, music is mouch louder. If you use only navigation, it works very well.

If sound quality is so important, just use USB... Even the older Joying units can output more than 48 kHz over USB.

DUDU-HUANG please have a look at the 2026 Joying. These seem to put out frequencies up to 96 kHz - which is an indication that nothing has been cut off by resampling to 48 kHz.
Would be interesting if also 44.1 is put out without resampling (which is much more important to me), but it seems the Joying cleared the hurdle of fixed 48.

jannek They either developed their own audio pipeline or that snapdragon processor helped bypassed the android flinger. May not be possible with DUDU7 due to FYT, but who knows.

rille yes but it requires restarting the unit to put it in USB audio mode.
I really don't want and have patience to:

Use USB DAC direct to listen to the music with no resampling
Oh wait, now I need to call someone. Restart the unit after messing with settings to turn off USB audio.

rille I don't care at all about more than 48 kHz which can be given out - I have almost no audio files with true hiRes and I won't in the future - my hearing is limited to 16kHz so no need for 40kHz output. What I care for is LESS than 48 kHz, because 99% of my lossless music files (including streamed Spotify Lossless) are native 44,1Khz, and if I cannot avoid crappy resampling to 48k there is no need to go for lossless at all.
