My Dudu7 frequently loses GPS signal even though the cables are fully connected. I updated to the latest OTA version June 17, 2024. How to fix it?

Please check the number of satellites and signal strength with GPStest.
USB 3.0 devices can also interfere with satellite signals

Until now 24/3/2025 my DuDu7 still has frequent GPS connection errors. I have updated OS3.5.
I have tried removing the GPS antenna and reinstalling it many times or changing the installation location but nothing has changed.

MrDuaGang Can you install the app GPSTest? It would be interesting to see how many satellites are seen - or not. You may only be seeing Google Location Accuracy information.

Segundo this might explain why they recommend the antennas be located bottom right corner of dash instead of up my rear view mirror. I found this thread looking for placement comments.

Is there any other information related to best practice for antena placement?

I also have an issue with the GPS. I installed the antenna at the bottom right of the windshield as recommended. My phone can lock 90 satellites in seconds using GPSTEST, whereas it takes up to a minute for DUDU7 to lock in about 15 satellites maximum. This is a big problem when in the city, because the GPS loses signal for 5-10 seconds frequently.
What is the solution for this?
Change the DUDU GPS antenna to a better model?
Is there a setting that is relevant that we can change?

If your GPS antenna is positioned improperly, replacing it with an expensive model won't help.
Simply place the antenna where it receives the strongest signal at the optimal angle (front-facing, horizontal and upward).
Only by maximizing satellite visibility and signal strength can you achieve fast and accurate positioning.
If you prioritize aesthetics and conceal the GPS antenna, it will only function minimally—its signal reception will be inherently weak and prone to interference.

My gps keeps loosing it's signal. I don't think this is hardware issues, probably software issues. Works fine when I bought them, after update keeps loosing signal. Sometimes don't even connected at all.

hadious I had the same problem. Then I found out that I placed the antenna wrong because I have stuck it to side wall, but it has to look up to get the signals well. When I placed it correctly, the issue has fixed.

I placed my antenna exactly as recommended, face up, on the corner of the dashboard with clear view through the windshield. The issue is that it takes a long time to acquire the satellites, and that even if acquired, with an accuracy of +- 2 meters in GPSTEST, the signal will sometimes drop completely and the app (any GPS app) may take 2 or 3 minutes to re-acquire the GPS signal.
My phone however in the same location keeps the same accuracy, without dropping anything during a 2-3 hour trip.
Last but not least, my phone can see about 3 times more satellites than the DUDU7 radio. (About 30 vs 90 in general).
I am on the latest OS 0905...

This is really frustrating when traveling because I am never when the signal will drop during a trip, and make me take wrong directions.

Arnaud So what is the number of satellites using gpstest?
Normal accuracy should be 1 meter.
It's not always the case that a location you can see through the glass has a good signal.
You need to move the antenna while checking the satellite status. Find a position where the signal is the strongest.

I usually see between 12 and about 30-40 satellites, where my phone can consistently see about 90 satellites in the exact same place as the GPS receiver. I have already shared some info with Len (your Shenzhen team) about my install and problems with GPS.

If your antenna placement has poor signal reception, DUDU7 can easily acquire over 50 satellites with 1-meter accuracy.

Is this the optimal location based on your personal verification, or is it just a guess?
My own car gets very poor signal reception in this spot. I compared the signal strength based on the number of bars.

Can capture all satellites within seconds on my phone.
This is pretty much the best the DUDU7 GPS can do after minutes of searching...

If you're experiencing poor signal quality, please check the antenna or verify if any devices causing interference are plugged into the USB port.
