Older BMW (E39 E53 E38 E46) vehicle information usage with widgets.

At the moment dudu os shows vehicle information in vehicle information app.
But it is not possible to implement this data on any widgets.
For example it is not possible to display fuel consumption range and any other information from car.

It would be really nice to use this information in widgets. exctra cool would be if it was possible to reset fuel consumption straigth from widget, and not open the vehicle information, if this is not possible i can live with it.
But atleast I would want to display the info.

Also it would be nice if i can set timers in the car widget.
timers are used to program automatic axillary heating and cooling of the car.
maybe something like this.

I have an E53 and havne't figured this out either, but hopefully someone else here has. Also, which canbus box do you have? I have been trying to get the dynamic lines in the parking cameras to work, but I can't get the steering angle sensor data from the canbus box!

I have same can box as you.
fot dynamic lines i cant comment because at the moment i am not running reverse camera. but i have read something from bmw forums that only DSC exports steering angle ASC wont export this data, i am not sure this is 100% correct but i have read it.

Dudu developers, what is your take on older bmws is there are hope to get this data usable on widgets ?

Travel time/mileage/total time These have nothing to do with your original car. This is DUDU's own statistics and is recorded under your account information.

I hav to say one thing. Communication is extremly dificult, i dont know if this is because language barrier or what.
How it is possible that you can not understand what is the problem even when i explain and add images and so on.

Images with black backround, this is information in original vehicle information app. this is information from the car via can interface.
dudu car information widget what allows you to customise what kind of info you want to display on the widget.
THE PROBLEM, I CAN NOT DISPLAY CAR INFO ON THE WIDGET. How hard is it to understand that information from the car sould be usable on the widgets?

I ASKED THIS EXACT THING BEFORE i made desision to buy this headunit, and the watsap person told me vehicle information can be displayed on the widget, and he know what car i had because we already choosed harness and so on. and now i cant even display basic fuel consumption on my screen.

Instead I got aswers what dont make any sense.

janis after extensive testing:

status bar right side: outside temperature is taken from canbus, coolant temperature is taken always only from BT OBD dongle.
status bar left side (car lights status icons, handbrake, seatbelt): this is taken from canbus, only if you have a Toyota, some models (Corolla, RAV4 or All).
3D car widget: animation with light status, door status are taken from canbus, main lights status also works with ILLUMI wire,
navi large widget with car driving on a street - speed is taken from BT OBD or GPS, canbus speed is ignored (no matter the Dudu settings), main light status - ILLUMI wire or canbus.
rest of the widgets - RPM taken from canbus, speed taken from OBD, rest of the parameters seems to be calculated by HU.
steering wheel angle - Canbus only of course.

Mess, isn't it?

I didn't quite understand your previous post, or maybe it was a translation issue, so let me explain it again here. The coolant temperature in the upper right corner of the status bar can only be connected to OBD. So far, it has not been connected to CANbus, but maybe it will be added in the future.
The icons for gear, lights, brakes, etc., in the top-left corner are designed to distinguish between car brands and models. For many brands, gear information cannot be read from the CAN bus, and in some cases, such data may not even exist in their CAN systems.
Therefore, we will gradually add support for more car brands and models in the future.

DUDU-Meng that's exactly what I meant. Despite having for instance coolant temp and speed on canbus, we still must use OBD dongle because dudu widgets and some status use only OBD, so for no real reasons we must have it (cost, taken ObdII port).

So back to why i started this thread.
Is it possible to display average fuel consumption 1 and average fuel cunsumption 2 and range left to driver, from car can info to the dudu car widget ?
If not can it be pleas implemented in next version, for older bmw cars ?

The upper right corner of the status bar shows not only the coolant temperature, but also the indoor temperature, indoor humidity, and voltage, none of which are CAN bus data.

DUDU-Meng yet the outside temperature in the same corner is from canbus!

Mikescotland This external temperature is different. It is directly integrated into the systemUI, and here it is only soft-linked from the systemUI. It is not directly read from the CAN bus.

Thanks for the hint about where to get steering angle sensor data. It looks like it comes through the ODBII. Does anyone know if I get an ODBII unit if the steering wheel sensor will flow into the DUDU7 natively so I can use the dynamic parking lines?

hizzledizzlemizzle steering wheel data are only on canbus. They aren't on any Obd dongle as standard protocol. You can possibly extract them if using Torque App with some cars but you won't be able to use them for tracking lines in Dudu. Must be from canbus to use them.
