Duduauto Reverse Camera Problem

I recently installed the Duduauto reverse camera in my 2013 Toyota Prius C with the Dudu7 HU and am having problems with getting the camera to trigger the software when putting the car in reverse. When I load the standard "Dash Cam" app I can see that the video is working perfectly.

I believe that it's because I don't have the trigger wires wired up. The question is, do I need to wire in both trigger wires (one near HU and one near camera)? Is there just a simple software fix?

Update: I spliced in the reverse camera trigger wire to the reverse light and can confirm I am still getting 12v when in reverse. However the camera will not trigger upon reverse.

I don't know where to connect the G5 wire for the camera. The G5 wire to the headunit goes straight into the harness where it is connected to my car.

Do I need to splice it in? Should it be working without since I have the trigger wire connected?
