Hello. I can't get good sound quality. My previous S160 head unit sounds perfect with only a 12 band eq. But with dudu7 the sound is artificial. I have tried all possible alternatives. It seems that the tda 7803 is a bad amplifier. I'm seriously thinking about reinstalling my old S160.

In the vast majority of cases, the sound quality of the DUDU7 head unit is definitely superior to the original factory head unit. This sentiment is echoed by most DUDU7 users, who acknowledge the excellent audio performance of this unit. I would recommend reaching out to your dealer for assistance in checking the connections of your audio system.

It's unusual that you are experiencing artificial-sounding audio with the DUDU7 compared to your previous S160 unit, especially given the positive feedback from other DUDU7 owners. The TDA7803 amplifier in the DUDU7 is generally well-regarded and delivers high-quality sound reproduction.

Before concluding it is a problem with the DUDU7 itself, I would suggest having your dealer carefully examine how the head unit is connected and integrated with the rest of your car's audio setup. There may be an issue with the wiring, speaker connections, or configuration settings that is degrading the audio quality in your particular installation.

With proper installation and setup, the DUDU7 should provide excellent, natural-sounding audio that surpasses most factory systems, as attested to by many satisfied users. Work with your dealer to troubleshoot and optimize the system before resorting to reinstalling your old unit. They should be able to identify and resolve any problems to get the best performance out of your new DUDU7 head unit.

Given the strong track record of the DUDU7, I'm confident that with some expert assistance, you'll be able to enjoy the great sound quality that so many other owners have experienced. Wishing you all the best in getting this resolved!

Hi. There really is no problem with the installation. And I've put the s160 back in a couple of times to check since it's an easy process. I have undoubtedly the S160 gives me the feeling of live audio. And with dudu7 I can't achieve the same. I already spent many hours trying to configure using only the equalizer and also adding delay and other effects. But there is no way. It sounds like you're listening to low quality mp3s.

I can confirm that the DUDU7 has the best audio of all Android head units i had and i had a minimum of 20 in the last years.

JhonnyD I even notice a lack of linearity in Dudu7. As the volume is increased, the treble is lost. The TDA 7851L that comes with the S160 does not have that problem. From low volume to maximum there are no changes in the sound profile. That's why the specifications of the TDA 7851L say HiFi class. On the other hand, the TDA 7803 does not say that it is HiFi class. It only says that it is highly energy efficient. But who cares about energy efficiency if sound quality is lost?????.

Ariel I can make the music as loud as i want without loosing bass or treble.

It is so loud, that it hurts, when i want.

Maybe you have a faulty device? Or there is no thermal paste on the audio chip and it's getting to hot?

JhonnyD If I specifically touch the area of the chip it gets very hot (where the duduauto inscription is). So I assume that the heat transmission from the chip to the aluminum case is good. What I'm not sure about is if that operating temperature is normal. Considering that the tda 7803 is a high efficiency amplifier, it should not generate as much heat. You also have to keep in mind that saying that something sounds good is subjective and maybe something sounds good to you that sounds bad to me. And I am also being objective. I am comparing an s160 device that objectively seems better than dudu7. And I also base it on the specifications of both chips. TDA7851L achieved a HiFi rating, and the TDA7803 did not.

JhonnyD It seems that he discovered the secret to making it sound good. In the equalizer, I assigned the first frequency of 20 Hz a Q Factor of 8 and the last frequency of 20 Mhz I gave it a Q factor of 0.7. And assign progressive values in the rest of the intermediate bands. That way the sound is no longer artificial. Undoubtedly, properly assigning the Q Factor is very decisive so that there is no overlap between the different bands of the equalizer.

Please give me the equal picture you set up.

Thank you, I'll try to copy it.

Ariel That would have been my next question. 👍

JhonnyD Also check the thermal paste on the amplifier. It is a tda 7808. It is not a 7803. For my taste it had too much thermal paste. Lots of space between the chip and the aluminum case. As a supplement, I placed a thin sheet of copper in front of the chip so that it fits tighter and the thermal paste is only a thin film.

JhonnyD While there was an improvement in sound, I can't achieve the same sound quality as the S160. It seems that the Dudu7's equalizer lacks more range and precision in the band controls. +10 and -10 is not enough.

madusaya theres a soundmaster app which allow to share the settings without need of copying them

JhonnyD Hi. I have discovered a problem. As I mentioned below, my unit came with a 7808 TDA chip. It is not a 7803. The problem with the 7808 is that it only supports 4 ohm speakers. And in my car I have a speaker system with less than 4 ohms. That's why the chip must be heating up too much and I don't have good sound quality. I am making a complaint to the seller because at the time of purchase the specifications published about the product only talked about TDA 7803. I never saw photos or information that say it could have 7808.

                      a year later

madusaya hey are you good with setting up the equalizer
