Status bar from canbus please

Would it be possible to have water temp not from Obd adapter but from canbus data?
Same for RPM in the widgets and speed.
I have them all on canbus but duplicating with Bluetooth Obd adapter for displays which is unnecessary.

dudu-lai I get it. My question is if I need a separate ObdII Bluetooth device to get coolant temperature or this data can be taken from canbox which is transmitting that data (it's available in vehicle information)

Mikescotland Brother, your words are too confusing. I still give the same answer, you should ask the equipment seller.

Obd Elm connected - all data are on status bar, speed is from OBD on all widgets (big one too).
ELM removed, settings everywhere set to "prefer canbus" and despite having in Vehicle Info Speed, coolant temp, widgets and status bar do not have this info. Speed in big widget is taken from gps. Coolant temp "-- C".
So, I can assume widgets (including big one) and coolant in the status bar DO NOT work with canbus information.
Tested on two protocols - VW PQ low and Toyota RAV4.
If so, that's a big bug...

Mikescotland You can first check whether the OBD device can read your car's water temperature. If the OBD hardware cannot read the water temperature, then DUDU will not be able to obtain information from the OBD.

DUDU-Meng it can read from both, OBD and canbus, both provide that info. But only OBD value is ever displayed, switching in menus to value from canbus gives no readings at all (but present in vehicle info). Looks like system is fragmented and some widgets / functions take values from Obd, some from canbus.

You can first install an OBD-supported app on your phone and check whether you can read the water temperature information in the dedicated app.

DUDU-Meng I'm starting to be frustrated, it cannot be "lost in translation" issue...

On DUDU7, I have water temperature available on both - ELM OBD and canbus (Vehicle Info)
When ELM connected, on the status bar I have water temperature
When ELM disconnected, and in DUDU settings everywhere set to "prefer CANBUS" over GPS and OBD, there is no water temperature on the status bar
Water temperature is still available over canbus - as shown in the "Vehicle Info" app on DUDU.

Problem: Status bar takes ONLY water temperature from ELM OBD, cannot take from Canbus, even if it's present.
Second problem: Speed on large widget (that one with the car on a street) and small navi widget (which switches between wallpaper, 3D car and navi) - but this time this part is unable to take speed from canbus, it can only work with ELM OBD or GPS.

This means I have unnecessary device (ELM OBD) plugged and duplicating values that can be easily taken from Canbus.

I have basically same problem. My car shows all kind of info in vehicle setings. But none of it can be displayed on widgets and statusbar. I wish i can display average fuel consumption and range left to drive in widgets but it is not possible.

Same question/feature request here.
For now displaying water temp in status bar is only possible via OBD, so in order to show it there I need to install OBD adapter. BUT water temp is available via CAN and can be displayed only in widget.
I want to display water temp from CAN in status bar so I don't need to install additional OBD adapter only for water temp. I don't want to use separate widget for this as I only interested in water temp in it.

So is it possible to add support for displaying water temp is status bar from CAN?

From the outset, the design requirement was to display only OBD data. Reading from CAN would be very complicated, as different brands and car models have different protocols and different ways of reading coolant data, but OBD data is standardized.

DUDU-Meng @Feym That is completely untrue answer.
Already they are information from canbus on the status bar (my car screenshot below), on some other cars there are also fuel levels etc.
Outside temperature is different on canbus on almost every car and yet it's displayed without any problem.
Canbus messages are translated by canbox and canbus apk in the system. Then output from the canbus apk is standardised for ALL cars to distribute as same values into the FYT system. So "because it's different on many cars" is completely irrelevant in that case.
Somehow speed canbus data also vary between cars, yet, you're able to pick canbus speed values for widgets.
I suspect problem lies somewhere else - status bar is a FYT feature and as duduOS isn't really an OS but just skinned interface, Dudu devs can't really change anything important on status bar, as FYT doesn't provide source code even for headunit manufacturers as far as I'm aware.
But be honest instead of coming up with strange and untrue logic for the problem.

Not replace OBD, just add additional choice in settings to get it from CAN as widget has.

Mikescotland The status bar you see is not the FYT status bar. It is our own. We can modify and develop the status bar information at will. Which FYT system have you seen such a sub-navigation bar?

Me uno a la peticion, mi vehiculo en pantalla original puede mostrar temperatura de aceite , temperatura de agua refrigerante , consumo medio de combustible , etc.
Obviamente todo esto lo hace originalmente con canbus de serie .
La radio Dudu7 no muestra ninguno de estos datos .
Sería muy interesante e importante que estos datos se reflejasen vía Canbus en DUDU7 y asi evitar tener que usar OBD2 .
