Hi! I currently have a Dudu 7 installed in my 03 Lexus ES300, however I cannot get the rear view camera to work.
So to start, the canbus box provided to me is an LZ box, and on the unit it is currently setup as LZ->TOYOTA->LEXUS ES300-> NO AIR.AMP, as per the installation instructions and some help from the Mekede Technical team.
Based on the installation manual, due to having this box all I have to do to connect my camera is connect the male out of the camera to the female in of connection harness F, which I have done.
However, this does not trigger the reverse camera when I put the car in reverse, nor does it even show an attempt of displaying a video output, in essence nothing happens.
After highlighting this to Mekede Technical, since there was nothing to indicate the unit knowing I was in reverse, I then tried to connect wire G5 from the primary power harness to what I thought was my camera's trigger wire.
However, this also did not do anything. I found this to be unusual as in my previous unit, the camera was converted from RCA male to 3.5mm which then connects to the unit, and the reverse camera would function as normal. Upon checking the wiring diagram for my camera, there is actually no trigger wire. Yet, I still expect the camera to function as it worked before.
Subsequently, I tried to connect the CAM 12V wire from connector F to wire G5. When not in reverse, the unit only shows a black screen with "No signal" and I cannot use the unit at all. When in reverse however, the camera switches on, then switches off when in drive and goes back to the earlier black screen.
I also tried connecting the G5 wire, CAM 12V, and the "fake trigger" cable simultaneously, but nothing also happens. Therefore, it seems that the reverse camera would only pop up if G5 is connected to a wire that only activates when reversing. I doubt that it is the camera itself that is the issue as it does switch on when in reverse as discussed in the previous paragraph.
Lastly, I was advised to try different canbus settings from RZC, OD, and XP. But this did not do anything.
However, one major discovery I found is that my LZ canbus does not actually have a male connector to go into connection C in my vehicle specific harness. This is further reinforced by noticing that the 3D model does not show when I turn on/off the lights or open the driver's door.
Therefore, could the issue be that the canbus itself does not have a connection to the unit other than being spliced from the vehicle specific wiring harness, which is why the reverse video is not being displayed? Or does my vehicle model not support a canbus and as a result have to figure a way to actually connect G5 properly?
Many thanks for the help.
