Car Play & Wireless Internet

G'day All... To have wireless internet to the headset (for youtube) and also have car play working, what do I turn off and on. There is Bluetooth, Hotspot, Wifi, and Mobile Network. I cant work out the correct combo and I cant get carplay to work at all. Wired or Wireless. Is it possible to have both internet and CarPlay to the head unit wireless

I did find a setting that was password protected to enable USB tethering. I did have it working via USB at one stage but cant get it working again.

I have just upgraded to latest 3.6 but I was having the same setting problems with 3.5.

Also... Finally the backlight turns right down. This was the best fix so far. I couldnt use the screen at night previously as it was way too bright. Great update with much easier navigation 🙂 Thanks

Sorry for not reading.

are you saying that the hotspot DUDU7 on your iphone can't link?
your iphone can't link carplay via wireless and wired?
are you trying to get the DUDU7 to link to the iphone's carplay while the DUDU7 is on wifi?

I try with wifi on but wifi always turns off by its self. I try with bluetooth off and on, wifi off and on and hotspot off and on. I am not sure what is the correct combination. It always says approved but never connects.

Is there standard setting to connect internet to the headset from my phone and also have carplay to connect?

EDIT: 1: correct. i cant get the phone to link with hotspot. 2: correct. 3: I have tried wifi and hotspot 4: When i turn on wifi or hotspot. i always come back and they are turned to the off position

Settings - More Functions - Labs - AP Auto Enable, did you see if this is turned on? If so, please turn it off and try again.

i checked and AP Auto-Start is already turned off. Auto connect wifi is off and wifi authentication is disabled

i deleted all devices and connections and started again. Now after pairing everythng again this is what happens

Hotspot on and connected to my phones wifi. CarPlay works but no internet to the Dudu7. Bluetooth not connected and WIFI is disabled

Tried to turn wifi on but it keeps turning wifi off automatically

Plug my phone in via USB and carplay works and internet to dudu7 works.

So now it works again but not wireless internet

If it's after linking to the carplay that's what happens, no other wifi is allowed and you can only use your phone's network within the carplay to use the internet at that point.
That's how carplay is designed, it's not a bug.

DUDU-Meng can this be solved while running a sim card? Like can you run android auto/applecar play while recieving data for the other apps/widgets to work? Example weather widget and android auto?

ok thanks. Its such a shame that it needs to be plugged in to have internet to dudu7 and carplay. Fingers crossed that one day it is all wireless

SIM cards are always available to keep DUDUOS networked. But android auto is your phone casting over, and it's your phone's network that is used within android auto.

What were the official settings for my iphone? Bluetooth on, hotspot on, bluetooth on, wifi off? What is the correct stable combination?

I am having problems again. With wifi on it takes the internet away from my iphone because my phone is trying to get internet from the dudu via wifi. Some days it all works perfect and some days wont connect at all and some days i have no internet to my phone.

Are you saying that after connecting to Bluetooth, the Wi-Fi turns off and then automatically turns on the hotspot? Is that right?

Bluetooth connected to DuDu. Hotspot connected to Dudu. WiFi connected to DuDu. USB connected to Dudu.

But... My iPhone has no internet because my wifi is connected to Dudu CarLink and always auto connects.

Is WiFi needed for wireless connection to carplay? Should I disable Wifi on the Dudu? I can not work out what is needed or what is the official settings

Second related question. Why can Apple CarPlay have wireless internet from my phone but to have internet for the Dudu7 it must be plugged in to usb?

Example... When using Apple CarPlay on DuDu I can play Youtube Music while only connected via wireless connection inside CarPlay. But to use Youtube Music App on Dudu I must have my phone plugged in via USB to get internet to the Dudu

If you insert a SIM card into DUDU7, it can connect to the Internet at any time.
If you only use Wi-Fi to access the Internet, then after connecting to CarPlay, you can only use the Internet within CarPlay.

urobbert DUDU's SIM card allows DUDU to connect to the Internet, but does not include CarPlay.
This is because CarPlay is projected from an iPhone. It uses the iPhone's network.

urobbert The apps in CarPlay are all apps from your phone, and it will use your phone's internet connection.
