  • New DUDU7 NOTHING JUST WORKS AS IT SHOULD

Purchased my dudu7 almost a month ago new from ali express. Every time i go install it i run into NOTHING BUT ISSUES. I take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Previously had a pioneer unit installed before pulling to install the dudu7 and everything worked 1000% fine. Everything just worked.

My car is a 2008 Toyota Corolla Ce USA. It is a simple and basic car with little to no tech. IT HAS NO CANBUS. It has 4 interior speakers ( aftermarket ) 2 in front and 2 in rear deck. It has 1 amp powering a sub ( aftermarket ) all in trunk.
Its a simple wire harness that connects car to radio. Everything is labled what goes to what and is connected correctly.

Radio is DUDU7 10" non 360 model with official dudu front and rear camera. Not on the latest firmware because we didnt get to that part yet and we are waiting for the over the air update. We are in the process of making sure everything works before we fully install the radio and put the dash back together.

My installer has done 1000s of installs over 30 years with pioneer, sony, kenwood etc. At one point he had his own business so it qualifies him and he knows what he is doing. His knowledge goes above and beyond radio installs. Basically anything that relates to audio and electric he is more then qualified.

He is against all chinese android headunits as they are riddled with issues and nothing works the way it should and he advised me against this purchase. Despite his best effort to keep me from getting this unit i went against his opinion and purchased it. I told him give it a chance… it is known to be the best android headunit out there.

Welp 4 weeks later and we have run into issues on every single thing we do. My car is currently not drivable because the dash is hanging apart. The support is meh. I have to wait sometimes days to get a reply that more then likely doesnt help or fix the issue. At this point im supper frustrated with everything cause it has been one of thee worst installs ive ever had done. NOTHING WORKS WITH EASE THE WAY IT SHOULD. I have over $800 in dudu products purchased within the last month that have basically become useless and i am ready to throw in the towel. The install has been such a mess between issues and support and my car has been down for weeks now.

Current issues.

  1. Tpms
    Tpms does not want to work. Followed install directions that was provided in another thread i made by fudu support but the apk wont load onto the unit.

  2. Cameras
    Rear camera works… .but when we connect the front camera to the properly labled front camera wire on the harness… the 360 mode activates and we lose both front and rear cameras and we only see a blank screen. We have forced a hard reset that fixed the rear camera but afriad if we plug in the front the same will happen and will be have to do a master reset again. This is official dudu front and rear cameras. For some strange reason it seems to have knocked out my aftermarket amp and sub in the trunk. The fuse is fine.

  3. Rear Amp & Sub ( Sony Amp, Pioneer Sub )
    Both are aftermarket but for some strange reason we cant get them turned on. For some strange reason when the camera kicked into 360 mode it seems it kicked off the amp and sub. Now we cannot figure out how to get it back on. The fuse is fine.

All that being said…i really wanted this android unit. Nice big screen… best ui they say. Was getting tired of my pioneer in my corolla and my sony xav 8500 in my truck with android auto and its limitations.. I was really hoping i could prove my installer wrong and get his mind to change about android head units with this radio. This was the end all be all i thought, But that has been wishfull thinking.

dudu-lai no this one just happens to mention the 3 issues at hand. I did not make a post about 1 of the issues with the amp. This post was a frustration post that is deserved and wrong for you to delete it. I was considering buying another unit if it worked corrextly for my truck.

The amp is connected the correct way that you would connect to any other radio. Is there a setting inside the dudu os to turn it on that i dont know about? Im telling you what happend and the truth.

I will try the tpms and installing the 3.6 update. 🤞

          Skillzo1 your other post wasn't deleted and can still be seen. The Dudu team is very helpful and always responsive. There are a ton of changes with the new OS release so update it as suggested and try to start with a fresh positive attitude. These guys want to help you and their device is amazing.

                                1. Your tire pressure app can't be installed, this means you have installed the app, you can check in the app list, if he can't check, see if it's hidden by you
                                  2.Regarding your second question, it's better to take a picture for us to see, maybe you haven't switched to the correct mode of reversing, you can go to the factory settings and switch to the reversing mode.
                                  3.Rear amplifiers and subwoofers are recommended to check their own wiring

                                    Just to be.clear… the front camera wire, which wire does it connect to on the back of the radio harness?

                                    Is it this one? Remember i do not have 360 camera.

                                        Skillzo1 From what I see in the photo you have 360 cameras. The thing is that in order for them to work you must have installed/connected all of them. Not only the front/rear camera. Otherwise there will be problems as you say. And this is the reason why the 360 is activated after you connect the front camera. Try to connect all of them and see if you still have problems.

                                                Skillzo1 In the picture you have 4 connectors(black, yellow, blue, red). To what they connect to?
