Can a CANBUS cause problems with central locking system?

I have had my DUDU7 8g/128g unit installed for just over a week. It was a car specific model for a 2006 mercedes C class W203 so came with frame, wiring harness and hiworld canbus. On the canbus setting there was no other setting for my car than Hiworld>Mercedes>Old>Compatible. It works as in steering controls and door opening shows. Since installation there have been incidences of my central locking not working every time, sometimes it takes multiple presses of the button and sometimes it won't work at all, then sometimes it works first press. I have put a new battery in the key but no difference. Also sometimes the ignition doesn't accept they key first time either. The key is less than a year old as had to be replaced.
Could the canbus box be causing this? as my old unit had a simplesoft canbus box and this didn't happen, this has only started after installing the new unit and canbus box

robdx2 Will the problem be solved by selecting no protocol for CANBUS?
Do you have a DVR installed? Unplug the USB device
Does the DUDU device hibernate or shut down when it goes off? If it's hibernating, set it to shutdown and will the problem be solved?

dudu-lai I already set to shutdown, as had battery drain problems on a previuos unit. I will try unplugging DVR and altering canbus settings

dudu-lai Would a DVR dash cam affect it?? If so I will unplug after every use

robdx2 If the device is set to sleep after the engine is turned off, the DVR may affect the key within 10 minutes after the engine is turned off. If the device is turned off, it will not affect the key.
Use elimination to find the problem first

dudu-lai I have been doing a bit of research and this is a picture of my canbus box

Note it shows fit for 05-11 B200. I also found this on an Xtrons forum.

My car is a Mercedes W203 C-Class C180 2006 so that indicates my canbus setting should be Hiworld>Benz>B200>Simple.

Prior to having the dudu7 I had a topway TS18 unit in the same car and I think that was the canbus setting on that though it was a different canbus box, so if I cannot find that setting on the hiworld maybe i should swap canbus boxes to the previous one

Anyway I have done some testing today using the Hiworld one. So coming from it set at Hiworld>Benz>old>compatible where I had steering controls plus door opening graphics, but occasiononal incedences of ignition not accepting fob first time.
Test 1....set to Hiworld>Benz>B200>Hiword(only available option)....did 6 stops and on all 6 cental locking intermittent not working....fob in ignition took multiple attempts to accept on all 6 stop/starts...steering control working, no door open notification.

Test 2 set to NULL>No Protocol....6 stops, central locking ok on all 6, only 1 out of 6 times the key fob was not accepted first time but was on second attempt....but obviously no steering control, no door open notification.

I will attempt to find the old Canbus box from my old TS18(Eonon) unit, it worked perfectly on the Eonon for 2.5 years but the box and harness were from an even older Brogotek (Xonrich) MK8667 unit. It must have fallen under a seat as its a big job stripping the entire centre console to remove head units, so it could be anywhere. I am pretty sure it was this type of box I have no idea what make

So it is a LZ(HZ) do you think it worth a try?? Only problem is its a big job to change it as I have to strip out the entire centre console to swap it with the Hiworld one

robdx2 It's worth a try. Have you found the matching wiring harness for LZ (HZ)?

dudu-lai Yes, the harness is already connected, I was sent the wrong one with the dudu7 unit so I kept the old harness on and just swapped the canbus box to the new hiworld one when I installed the unit

dudu-lai I have not had chance to do the swap yet, I will do it when I get a free hour as I have to dismantle the entire centre console to access the wiring harness and rear of unit

dudu-lai I have swapped over the canbus box and so far so good no key problems as yet. steering controls work, door opening works set to LZ(HZ)>benz>B200/Viano>HX but unable to get indicator animation to function but it didn't on the hiworld either which is no issue really, be nice if it worked but not fussed if it doesn't. An interesting development after swapping over though, the reversing guide works propperly now where it didn't on the Hiworld box, unfortunately I dont think it will be possible to ever get the reverse sensors working as they are not factory fitted, and the only bleep with no display on the dash

Run your car for a few days without the Dudu7 and harness. If you keep having problems, the issue is not the canbus box.

Seems like you have an aftermarket keyfob, which are prone to early failure. I had that issue and I've ended up getting an OEM keyfob that worked without issue.

Sorry to bring this up again but after updating to 20250519 yesterday I noticed something

As highlighted on the screenshot it shows as unknown CANBUS version. My car is old(2006 Mercedes C180) so only steering controls and door open notifications work and they do work but I was wondering does Unknown CANBUS version mean I am missing some kind of firmware for it?

robdx2 It won't have an effect.The version doesn't mean anything, DUDU asks the CANBUS terminal: what is your software version, if the CANBUS terminal doesn't respond, it shows unknown version, not something missing!
