  • Cheeky 360 Camera Chip add on policy.

Yep, I just recently bought the Dudu7 12+512 - you know, their top of the range.

Nowhere on the Mekede AliExpress page does it say, "Make sure to message your seller to request 360 degree camera capabilities".

Nowhere is there a box you can check to "include 360 camera chip" and adjust the sale price accordingly.

Nowhere on the page I purchased the unit from did it even mention it as an optional extra.

Trust me, I checked.

I figured, believe it or not, that by purchasing the top specc'ed 9.5" unit it might actually be included.

In a sense, they've robbed themselves of an extra sale, because I would have then gone ahead and bought their 4 cameras too... Now I'm just annoyed.

It's a dumb policy.

Marchiefabs Cry harder. Should have contacted a sales rep for customization requirements as noted in the optional accessories options section. Sounds like you played yourself in trying to save a few bucks on ali. lol.

    /troll out 🙂

Just a point of order, since I'm not a complete turnip: I checked the optional extras portion of the description before I purchased the piece, and even after I posted to this forum. Nowhere was the 4 camera add-on listed. The ADAS DVR, back and front cameras (+/-Sony upgrade blah blah}, TPMS kit and other bits and bobs WERE listed.

In fact the only place you could see a link to purchase the Duduauto 4x camera package was in a suggested link below along with all the other AliExpress offers based on my click history etc.. But that's beside the point. I wanted the chip, and was happy to purchase the camera package at a later date when I had the time to install it. I wasn't in a rush, but the capability, I assumed (erroneously, of course) would be included. While I had seen ads for previous generation HUs with 360 capability included (along with cameras) from other producers, this wasn't the case for the Dudu7 as advertised to me on the Mekede AliExpress store page as visible to me from Australia.

      That is still the case.

Assuming all future customers have been trawling through forums for clarification on how to confirm hardware specs when ordering, is a flaw in their business model. How about making it easy for customers to order what they want? You know, with a bloody check box?

      It's dumb.

But hey, cheers for the solid trolling. 🍻

Unfortunately I am also dissapointed by the same company, the marketing did not correspond to the actual product can I remind you Picasso that there are quite some customer protection policies, and especially in the region I am?

George_naf George, the dudu7 is a best in class device with the best in class support and OS. From presales to post sales they are willing to help all users in order for them to get the most from the device in which their car supports. There are thousands of cars and hundreds of wiring configurations and not all functions and features are supported for every car (built in OEM CD player for example). I don't know what configuration your car supports, or its canbus requirements, if applicable. I understand you're upset and hope you get the answers you desire.

Just so you know, the top of the range dudu7 headunits automatically come with the 360 chip included. There is no need for an add on. I messaged Mekede in whatsapp prior to purchasing my 12+256gb dudu7 unit and was told this is already included for all dudu7s.

See the attached screenshot of the message from them.

isameking12 not true, it maybe dependent on who you get it from (ali, amazon, makede-mall)

in a reddit thread I started, I've had a person reply to me that they bought what they thought was their top of the line model. 12gb ram + 512 rom, full package. he didn't ask for the 360 version, so he didn't get it. no big deal for that person but he was disappointed not to get that add-on when he thought he got all the add-ons. I going to assume based on your picture it honestly depends where your ordering from. I made sure I got mine with the 360 chip in it as it was one of the biggest reasons i leaned heavily towards the dudu7 since it was integrated really well in their OS
