  • New install but few problems

Hello
I have today installed a DUDU7 head unit into my 2006 Mercedes C180 but I seem to have a few issues.
The local music player will not play from USB, it will see the drive and display track list but will only play 1-2 seconds then stops. I have installed poweramp and that plays any track fine, but I do prefer the stock players. I have 2 usb sticks in usb2 and usb3
I have a dvr camera USB and that will not work, it just shows no signal.
the first USB device I tested was a DAB dongle which worked fine at first, but after I unplugged it to test USB music(see first point above) the DAB dongle was then not recognised, I know the dongle is powered as the little green light is on.
Also I have one of those blue tooth steering controls but it but the unit wont find it on scan, how do I put the bluetooth steering control in pair mode? I have put the battery in so should be powered

Can anyone help?

robdx2 Third-party applications, which may cause USB recognition errors, please restore the device to the factory state, do not download other applications, and then test the USB
For Bluetooth controllers, see this tutorial
    https://wiki.dudu-auto.com/en/%E5%A4%96%E8%AE%BE%E9%93%BE%E6%8E%A5/%E8%93%9D%E7%89%99%E6%96%B9%E6%8E%A7

Ok will try but only 3rd part app on at time of first testing was Dabdream
    Quick run down of setup:
Once installed and connected up I ran through initial set up.
I then signed in to google account for play store etc
I downloaded Dabdream for my Dabstick which I tested and at first it works(further investigation has found it has gone faulty as I have a spare and the spare works)
I then tested USB music via local music and no tracks would play from USB for more than 1-2 seconds but sample music already on device storage plays ok

    Update:
    Got the bluetooth controls sorted.
I factory reset and installed no 3rd party apps, unfortunately the problem still exists plays 1-2 seconds then stops.
Also noticed a new small issue. I was using navigation iGO and also have tomtom app installed. I was listening to a soccer game commentary on my phone through bluetooth music and once playback started I lost the sound on the iGO navigation but I do have the unit set to allow music when nav is running. I switched over to tomtom instead, but on that the voice plays but switches off the bluetooth playback

robdx2 Is a local player used? What is the current version of DUDUOS? What format is the music in? Please send us a couple of tracks that won't play for us to try out.

I have used the built in music player, I have latest version of software as OTA update says latest version all my music files are in mp3 format. I have reformatted a usb drive to FAT32 to see if that makes a difference. I will test later today and report back. The car is not here at the minute so usb is in the car so unable to send tracks currently

Well formatting to fat32 solved it, music now plays but I still have more problems cropping up
My dab dongle is now scetchy at best signal wise but on my old Eonon unit it was perfect. I use a windscreen mount that is properly earthed to bare metal. On my old unit I ran the wire down the A pillar and under the mat to my centre console at side of drivers seat as this is where I route USB ports to for ease of access, when i installed dudu7 I then routed antenna cable through the back of dudu unit then same route as usb cables(from back of unit behind climate controls and round side of auto gear shifter into what was a cup holder at side of seat, the only other difference is I now have a reverse camera wire running up the same A pillar as the dab antenna(Surely only powered when in reverse and not connected to a camera yet so should not be causing interference). Does Dudu unit use LEDS in the display as they are known to cause interference?
Next I have an Eonon dvr camera and my friend has just bought a generic ADAS camera. My eonon is not fully picked up by the dudu. in file manager and in another file manager app I prefer to use its there then vanishes, then comes back so I tried plugging in my friends new ADAS and the same thing happens, both work fine on his Joying unit so its not a camera issue. Do dudu units only allow the dudu cameras?? I have tried both my files app and the built in one with same result, also tried the dudu ADAS and dvr app but still nothing. tried all 3 usb ports as well.
I have a link to a video here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Hsyll37KB4rj1MFv_r0JUm2bM-7CdZ36/view?usp=sharing it was too big to upload but it shows it disappearing and reappearing from file manager.
At this point i am seriously thinking to send back the unit

robdx2 Is DAB related to region selection?
When using DUDU's 2K DVR, it is normal for the USB hard disk drive to disappear from the file manager after installing the application.
If it is a third party DVR, the USB read abnormality occurs before installing the application (you can find out if you have downloaded DUDU DVR core service in Application Management - Uninstall), alternatively, you can copy the third party application to DUDU local directory for installation.

          dudu-lai Good morning
No I think the DAB issue is related to electromagnetic interference. I checked the settings and I found the reverse camera was set to always on. I changed that setting and signal improved, I am also going to try bringing the antenna cable a different route to see if that improves it further.
I will try looking for DUDU DVR core service. Maybe it would also be a good idea to uninstall the dudu dvr apps as well? should I do that?

          dudu-lai Thank you so much
You were 100% correct, the DUDU DVR core service was indeed installed, after uninstalling problem solved I can now see and install the camera. Now to learn the adas features....Thank you once again for your help
