So I am in the process of mounting and doing the wiring of my 360 camera's. My question is when I mount the cameras, is their preferred distance from the camera to the body of the vehicle? Also Should the cameras horizontal angle be parallel to the vehicles body or should they be parallel to the side mirrors? The vertical angles are a given with rubber grommets.
360 Camera mounting.
I hope you can find an answer for this
- I have the same questions and have done testing by taping the cameras to the outside of the vehicle while the Head Unit is connected and running... I am now concerned that they sent me the wrong type of cameras because I cannot find an orientation that can see the whole ground on the side of my van (from front, all the way to the back).
There seems to be mixed views on whether the side cameras go under the side wing mirrors, or at the centre-top-side of the van. However, the 360 side cameras that the seller sent did not come with different or adjustable mounts... just the rubber grommets you mentioned.
Recommendations for the placement of 360 cameras.
Is there any information for vans?
They sent me the wrong side cameras and also the cables were too short for a van so i need to find out what type of cables and camera to order.
ManOfScience Because I am doing some custom wiring. Basically I am running the wires to factory connectors and along factory harness I needed some extension wires. When I have a minute tomorrow I will shoot you a link to what I have been suing. Beware I had to modify the connector end. One thing I did do is use double walled heat shrink to any 360 Camera connector that was going to exposed to the elements
ManOfScience Yea the will not be adjustable. The rubber grommets should give you the correct downward angle on the vertical line. For me it is figuring out what is the correct horizontal line that is correct.
