  • 2016 Mazda 2 Dudu7 Issues

Hi, I recently had a Dudu7 HU installed into my 2016 Mazda 2. Image and sound is excellent and the unit is very responsive, however the steering wheel controls, reverse camera and external mic are not working. I was initially sent the wrong wiring harness, and my mechanic advised me to acquire a harness that fit the connections in the below image:

This is the harness that I was sent upon requesting a new one from my DUDU salesperson, which only satisfied one of the three connections my mechanic advised were needed:

As mentioned, the unit powers on and works fine, however the aforementioned issues prevail. I have been unable to retrieve any information through the CANBUS, and am unsure if I need a different wiring harness or the issue lies elsewhere. I can provide further images and/or documentation if needed.

dudu-lai I just tried that, CANBUS and wheel controls now work! Still no reverse camera or mic, have tried the settings in Settings > Vehicle > Reverse Camera but still nothing

WillieWeeks Is it a DUDU reverse camera? How are camera video cables connected?

dudu-lai it's a DUDU camera, see the attached photos.

WillieWeeks Does putting it in reverse make the screen go black?

dudu-lai no, when put in reverse nothing happens on the screen, just continues normal operation.
I have found that the trigger wire and G5 power cable have not been connected by the mechanic, as you can see there is tape over the trigger cable. Is that how it arrives out of the box? Is there any risk to connecting the two for car safety?

I connected the trigger to the power and it was a success! Is there any way to have the reverse guidance lines turn along with the wheel?

WillieWeeks There is a setting for this function, OS version may vary but I believe its under reverse camera, dynamic lines, but functionality will depend on your specific car/canbus.

Oddly enough, my OEM rear camera did not have this functionality but with the dudu7 it does....an interesting discovery for me.....
