  • DUDU7 external mic vs internal & ATT LTE support

Does the mic on the front panel of the DUDU7 work reasonably well? Or should I plan to install the external mic somewhere (and if so, suggestions as to where?)?

And also, does anyone know if DUDU7's 4G LTE radio will work with ATT?

I'm waiting on the correct harness to arrive to get mine installed, but trying to plan out that installation work a bit better than last time. I already ordered an adapter cable to go from HFC III (Toyota's connector) to Fakra so that I can use my van's built in GPS antenna, but not sure if I should plan to install the LTE antenna it came with and/or the external mic.

Aegwyn11 internal Mic works well. One of the best in Android space.

I was wondering same thing about internal vs external microphone. Has anyone compared the quality of the external mic supplied with the dudu7 unit to the internal/built in mic? I installed mine with the external mic that came with the unit and would have to pull everything out to disconnect the external mic to compare (unless there is some setting somewhere to select which mic to use)? Was curious if they both work about the same or if one sounded better than the other. By "better" I mean the person you are talking to hears less noise from AC or wind, and overall better clarity of your voice.

From my experience the internal and external mic are similar microphones and both the quality is not too good. External mic tends to have better quality because it can be positioned closer to the driver/drivers mouth and further away from interference from speakers or air vents. I now use a Sony XA-MC10 external microphone and find it much much better than both internal mic and external mic provided with the Dudu 7

Totally agree. Internal and supplied external mic are both rather poor quality. I bought an Olympus ME52 external noise-cancelling mic and there is a big improvement.

I really appreciate your feedback on the suggestions!

When i install external mic how can i change from the Internal mic to external mic?
        or it's switching directly?

Wass DUDU7 is a physical switch
The external MIC switches when it's plugged in.

          Hello
Is the Olympus ME52 plug and play ?
          Greetings

ATT 4G LTE works okay in the US on the included modem. Personally I bought a usb one that supports 5g.

              Hello!
              The Olympus mic arrived today.
I plugged it into the mic jack and wanted to test it.
Unfortunately, the mic doesn't work. I tried it with Google Assistant. It doesn't recognize any voice, no matter how loudly I speak.

Cabrioman Maybe the mic jack is faulty or you received a defective mic. Try with another device, I am sure there must be a fault. Did you check the connectors are pushed firmly into place? In my case I just plugged the Olympus mic into the Dudu7 mic jack and it worked very well. I see that many other Dudu7 users have also had success with the Olympus mic.
